Revenue and demand strategy
A go-to-market and demand generation plan built backwards from your revenue target, with clear funnel maths, priorities and owners.
Thirty years across corporates, small businesses and agencies. I help organisations turn marketing spend into pipeline, and pipeline into growth they can measure.
Why work with me
Every recommendation is tied to pipeline, revenue and cost of acquisition. If it does not move one of those, it does not make the plan.
I have run EMEA teams, owned large (and small) budgets and answered for demand targets. I know what it takes to deliver, so the plans I write can be executed.
I have worked at an agency, inside global technology companies and with smaller businesses. I brief agencies well because I have been the agency.
Automation, AI driven workflows and better data let smaller teams do more. I put them to work where they raise results and leave out the rest.
Where I help
Growing B2B companies, established corporates opening new markets and owner-led businesses ready to accelerate their marketing. The common thread is a growth target and a need for a clear path to reach it.
Services
Six areas of work, used on their own or combined into a programme. Each starts from the revenue goal and works back to the marketing that has to deliver it.
A go-to-market and demand generation plan built backwards from your revenue target, with clear funnel maths, priorities and owners.
Team structure, process, technology and measurement set up so marketing scales without adding complexity or cost at the same pace.
Senior leadership on a part-time or interim basis. I lead the team, own the plan and report on results in the language of the board.
Enablement, rewards and activation that give partners a reason to sell more, built on years of running channel programmes.
Sharper messaging and a customer journey that carries buyers from first contact to renewal, so brand work supports sales conversations.
An independent look at where spend goes, how agencies are briefed and what each pound or dollar returns, followed by a plan to improve it.
Ways to work together
A few weeks
A focused diagnostic of your funnel, spend, team and technology. You receive a prioritised plan and the numbers behind it.
Defined scope
A single piece of work, such as a go-to-market plan, a channel programme or a new operating model, delivered to a clear brief.
Ongoing
Regular days each week or month as your senior marketing lead, with the team and agencies working to one plan.
Experience
Three decades in marketing, across networking, security, cloud and software. The scale of the work grew with each role, and so did the commercial responsibility.
Genesys Telecommunications
Responsible for regional marketing and demand generation across EMEA, with a focus on pipeline contribution and the programmes that create it.
Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company
Led marketing for the EMEA region through a period of major growth in enterprise networking and security, with large teams and multi-million budgets.
Juniper Networks
Joined on the client side in field marketing and progressed to a global role running digital demand, building the programmes, operations, shared services and measurement that connect campaigns to revenue.
Planet Marketing and Design
Managed client briefs and budgets, and ran channel reward and activation programmes for clients. This is where I learned how agencies and clients work best together.
Hancocks of Mersham
Sold directly to farmers and ran the marketing that brought them in, including my first email campaigns in 1998. Selling face to face taught me that trust has to be built before a buyer will commit.
Harper Adams University
Studied Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Levels 1 and 2, alongside a grounding in marketing and business principles that I have evolved to fit modern business management and technology advancements.
Scope of the work
Built and led EMEA marketing teams across multiple countries, functions and agency partners.
Planned, allocated and defended large marketing budgets, with reporting that finance and sales leaders trust.
Ran the whole marketing mix for a region, from strategy and brand to digital demand, field and channel.
About
Thirty years in the field have taught me what works in marketing, what does not, and how to tell the difference using data.
I started by selling to farmers, moved to a marketing agency specialising in the technology sector, and then joined one of their clients in 2004. Since then I have led teams and owned budgets across EMEA and beyond, through networking, security, cloud and software. Everything I know comes from putting ideas into practice and measuring what happens. The programmes that worked taught me what to repeat, and the ones that failed taught me even more.
Data is at the core of how I work. I use it to decide where to invest, which accounts best meet your value proposition, to test what is working and to stop what is not, so every plan rests on evidence and is tied to a number.
I turn what works into repeatable workflows, and build them to adapt as go-to-market changes, whether that means new buyers, new channels or new technology. My aim is to leave you with a team, a plan and a way of measuring that keeps working quarter after quarter.
How I work
We agree the revenue goal first. Strategy, budget and team all follow from it.
Most marketing teams do too much. I help choose the programmes that earn their place and stop the rest.
Pipeline, conversion and cost of acquisition, shown simply and honestly, including what is not working.
I coach as I go, document what works and hand over processes your people can run without me.
